(Applications Due: January 7, 2010) The U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) is soliciting proposals for its Bioengineering Nanotechnology Initiative. The program aims to promote research "that employs nanotechnology to enable the development of diagnostics and interventions for treating diseases." A focus of the effort will be the development of principles and instrumentation capable of measuring and imaging biological processes of health and disease and methods to assemble nanosystems. Applications are due by January 7, 2010.
