Featuring:
- Don WinsteadSpecial Advisor to the Governor for the Implementation of theFederal American Recoveryand Reinvestment Act of 2009
- Congressman Alan Grayson (D-Orlando)
- Congresswoman Suzanne Kosmas (D-New Smyrna Beach)
In March 2009, Governor Crist appointed Don Winstead to serve as Special Advisor to the Governor's Office of Economic Recovery. Governor Crist introduced Mr. Winstead as Florida's "stimulus czar" - the key official charged with $13.4 billion in federal stimulus money expected by the state.
It is important to make sure we know what's coming and that the people that need information have that information," Winstead said. "I'll be a synthesizer of information and a disseminator of information." Mr. Winstead said part of his job is to serve as "an opportunity watchdog."
We have the honor of having Mr. Winstead speak to us about the state of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and opportunities for Florida. After Mr. Winstead's discussion, Central Florida Congressional Delegation - Representatives Alan Grayson (D-Orlando) and Suzanne Kosmas (D-New Smyrna Beach), will be invited to participate and outline stimulus opportunities, current initiatives and the impact of these dollars in their districts.
Please join us for this exciting opportunity to better understand the opportunities and impact of stimulus money on Central Florida.
