To: All FPC members
The next General Meeting of the Florida Photonics Cluster will be on Thursday, 14 April. The location is still being finalized, but the program will have two seminars:
"Advances in Video Technology: Can They Adversely Affect Your Bottom Line?" Included in the talk will be some discussion of the ways video can be used in today's new marketing paradigm. Presented by Arte Tedesco, President of Monkey Fist Productions in Orlando. http://www.videoproductionorlando.org/
“Update on Southeast Region Employer Council”, Dr. John Souders, Director of Curriculum, OP-TEC: National Center for Optics & Photonics Education. www.op-tec.org. The Southeast Region Employer Council will encompass representatives from Florida, Georgia, S. Carolina, N. Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi. The ultimate goal of OP-TEC, with the help of the Council, is to assure the education capacity to produce enough qualified technicians to satisfy the needs of the photonics industry of our region and also to prepare students who will want to transfer to regional universities to pursue a bachelor degree in photonics. The Employer Council has the critical role of providing advice and guidance in achieving these goals.
Hope to see you at this meeting. Final details on the location will be sent out soon.
Best regards,
Jim Pearson
