INSIGHTS FOR EXPORTERS:
A GUIDE TO INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
August 28 • 8:15 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. • National Entrepreneur Center Orlando
• Free

The majority of a company's value isn't in what it does.  It's in what it knows and how well it's known.  For example, you can make a great widget but if no one knows it's your widget, they don't know to come to you to buy from the best!
·         Trademarks and Service Marks: words, phrases, symbols, etc., that identify the source of the goods and services in commerce.
·         Trade Secrets: recipes, pricing methodologies, marketing strategies, etc. -- things of commercial value that are not widely known.
·         Domain Names: a identification string that defines a realm (presence) on the Internet, such as www.export.gov.
·         Copyright: website content, graphics, print and television advertisements, music, artwork, etc. -- creative expression.
·         Patents: inventions and improvements, as well as ornamental designs.

Come learn what makes YOUR company so valuable and how to protect what you’ve got in our increasingly global world!

Seminar: “Cubic nonlinearity of organic molecules: the properties and methodologies”, Kenji Kamada
CREOL 102
Thursday, August 9, 2012 / 11-12pm

Kenji Kamada
AIST, Osaka

Abstract:
Overview of the real and imaginary parts of the cubic nonlinear optical responses of organic molecular systems will be presented.  First, decomposition of the OHD-OKE response of organic liquids into the instantaneous and causal components and the relation to the electronic and nuclear nonlinearity is discussed with the time evolution of the response with different pulse durations.  Second, two-photon absorption properties of several organic molecules measured by the Z-scan method and some technical issues related the effects of induced Raman scattering and optical-intensity distribution along Z-axis etc. are discussed.

New Product Announcment from Analog Modules
(July 10, 2012) The Model 763 OEM seed laser diode driver (pump laser diode driver) is ideal for driving 14-pin butterfly packaged laser diode modules or semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA) for use in CW or pulsed fiber MOPA and EDFA systems. The driver is implemented as a transconductance amplifier (analog voltage in, scaled current out) with operation up to 1.2A, 3.0V and pulsewidths down to 10ns. The driver circuitry operates from a single +5V power source. All other required voltages are generated on the board by high efficiency switching power supplies. The 763 is manufactured to the RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC requirements. For detailed specifications and outline drawings on the Model 763, visit our website at www.analogmodules.com/products/laser-diode.php to view the product data sheet. Please contact AMI to discuss the specifics of your application at sales@analogmodules.com or phone +1 407-339-4355.
